What is the ranosgol? As a sonarmen in the USN, we were required to keep a log of sonar contacts. The ranosgol (sonar
log spelled backwards) was the antithesis of the official log. In it we sonarmen had what could now be considered a blog --
except ours was written. In it we let off steam, talked about our adventures in various ports of call, even used it as a lost
and found. This one was the last one I contributed to. It was written on a Mediterranean cruise in October and November
1980, just before my enlistment ended.
Who is Melissa? Sweet Melissa is my granddaughter and the only person on the Get the Goat Galleries who gets a page dedicated
to herself.
An oil rig? This is where I work. There have been some interesting photographic opportunites here.
